To add a member, first select Member Details from the Members menu. You will then be presented with the Member Details Form. Click on the Add button and the form will clear ready to take some information on your first member. The key to each members record is the Member ID which has to be in the format of a letter, followed by up to 4 numbers. For example, A1234. There is a separate field called Member Number, in case the formatting of your member numbers are different than the Member ID and you need them to appear on the race result sheet. You will find that some results print out the member ID and others print out the member number. You will need to pick one that is suitable for your members. When you type information into the Member Details Form, it is saved automatically. You do not need to save the data manually as you do with most other applications. You can also go out of the screen and return to it at a later date to edit or change the information as required. On the Notes tab of the Member Details Form there is a Members check box. Mark it with an X for members and leave it blank for non members. IMPORTANT - You must enter at least 3 members before you can start to add distances. This can be helpful for larger clubs that may not send a result to every member. There is a table named resultsheet.dbf that stores the members that have requested to be sent a race result sheet. When closing the Pre Race Pools form, you are always asked if you would like to recalculate the number of birds in each pool. If you choose "Yes", then the resultsheet table has all members removed from it and is then repopulated with only the members from the current race. This table can either be imported into MS Excel directly or you can use the Export Members form to export the data in comma delimited format into the member.txt file. Entering Quick Distances Select "Quick Distances" from the Members Menu. Choose a liberation site from the list and click on "Create Distances". This will create a distance for every member from the selected liberation site. You will then be presented with a list to fill in the miles and yards for each member. Once you have entered all of the miles and yards, close the window in the normal MS Windows fashion or by pressing the escape key. At this stage you can still change your mind by clicking on Cancel. To save the information that you have just entered - click on the "Update Distances" button.
