On Race Day

Click on from the Racing menu. You must now choose a race from the grid and click on the button to continue. The next screen will ask you to enter or confirm the Liberation Time of the race as well as some other details, click on the button to continue. The next form is the Clock Details Form. This is were the bird clock times are stored. You can change most of the values in this form and it will recalculate. Click on the button if you want to add a member's time.

The pick list contains a list of all the members that have a distance for this racepoint. If "NO MEMBERS" are showing in the pick list then either you haven't entered the distances for this racepoint or check the spelling of the racepoint on the race details screen and in the members distances. Select the member from the pick list.

The form will display the distance for that member. Continue entering the details (birds sent, ring number, colour, sex, master set and check times, member set and check times, time in time, pools, midnight's from lib to in time and hours of darkness). The more clock times you enter, the less information you have to type in, for example :-

Master Clock Details are automatically entered for every bird added after the first one.
Master Clock Details, Member Clock Details, Distances and Birds Sent are automatically entered for every members bird added after the first one.

Open Races

When a race is defined as OPN (Open), the surname that you enter needn't be in the member details. However any surnames that are typed in are checked against the member database, if they exist then the details are entered automatically, otherwise you will enter the distance yourself. Members needn't have any distances entered for an open race as they can be entered with the bird clock details.

Deleting a clock time

Find the clock time that you wish to delete on the Clock Details Form and click on the button on the Navigation Toolbar. You will be asked to confirm that you want to delete the record. Press the button if you change your mind.

Entering a bird into the pools

Once your club pools have been set up, you will need to enter the individual birds into the pools as you enter their clock times. This is done on the Clock Details Form by clicking on the button.

How data from the current race result is exported for further manipulation

When you run a report to preview or print a race result, the following files are automatically populated with the data from the result :-
1. result.xls - MS Excel file - acceptable to the British Homing World
2. sectionresult.xls - a MS Excel file - acceptable to the British Homing World
The Excel files can be imported into a program such as Microsoft Excel or Word for further processing, or emailed to the British Homing World for publication.

Provisional Results

Output files are created exactly as above for provisional results (except ASCII) but all of the files are named provisional, for example, provisional.xls for the MS Excel file. The file Provisional.txt is a text only copy of the report. It can be loaded into a word processor for editing. All of the files are overwritten each time a new provisional result is run.

Reports

All reports generated by the RaceDay program can be displayed on the screen or sent to a printer. It is recommended that you preview any report before sending it to a printer to ensure that you have selected the correct details. All of the reports have been thoroughly tested and work correctly with the vast majority of printers. Please make sure that you have the correct printer driver set up if you experience problems printing.
